Well, the time has come for our eighth graders to move on. Our graduating eighth graders of 2017-2018 will be promoted from the top of middle school, to the bottom of high school. It has been a journey for these students that, just two years ago, were sixths graders, and are now the top of the school.

The promotion ceremony will be taking place on Thursday, June 14th from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the Travis Ranch Park. All family and friends will attend to see their 8th grade student(s), yet again, move on up. As our eighth grade graduates are heading towards the Travis Ranch Park, sixth and seventh graders will be wishing them farewell as they leave to begin their biggest challenge yet. High School.

During the ceremony, two of the eighth grade students will be presenting their promotion essays. One essay about reflection and the past, the other essay about looking forward to the future. The eighth grade student that will be presenting their essay about the past, titled “The Moments of the Past”, will be Jacey Beery. Presenting their essay of the future, titled “A Perfect Metaphor for Life”, will be the student, Wendy Ostaszewski. They will be presenting their winning essays in front of thousands of friends and family, and will be sure to drop some jaws for amazement.

It has been such an honor to work with these top eighth graders and beginning freshmen. Eighth graders only assume that they are halfway done with the ride. Unfortunately for some, the ride has only just begun. High School is their biggest challenge yet in their academic school years, and is not waiting for anyone. Buckle up, and enjoy the ride.
