How to Fill Your Christmas Break

While we would all love to open presents for 2 whole weeks, that is probably not going to happen. So then, how do we fill the rest of our time away from school.

First of all, you can make a delicious breakfast. Some things you can make are waffles, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, french toast, and more. You can put toppings like chocolate chips, whipped cream, and fresh fruit. Or you could just eat candy from your stocking.

If breakfast isn’t high on your list, but you enjoy sweets, how about cookies? You can make many types of cookies such as sugar cookies, chocolate chip, gingerbread, red velvet, or chocolate cookies. You could decorate them with frosting and sprinkles and you could have a contest on who decorates their cookie the best. If you don’t like to bake you could buy Christmas desserts to eat but making food with your family or friends is a great way to spend time with them.

Also, you can make gingerbread houses with your people. You can make your own gingerbread graham crackers or buy a kit at the store. Either way you can still decorate it in whatever way you want. This will add countless laughs and memories to you holiday.

Christmas movies are a great way to spend time with your family. Hallmark is always showing different versions of the same movie and are a great way to warm the heart. If that gets old or becomes too repetitive there is always the classics like E.L.F., Santa Clause 1-3, The Christmas Story, Home Alone, Polar Express, or the Christmas Chronicles.

Something that is also really fun to do is go ice skating with your family or friends. You can also play holiday games like holiday bingo, white elephant, or any other game your family makes up.

You can also play board games like Monopoly, clue, Tile Rummy,  UNO or Checkers.

Outside the house there are always great decorations and lights in neighborhoods around the city. Look online for some of the traditional spots or just drive around and find your own traditional stops.

In addition there are great movies coming out like the final installment of Star Wars, the Rise of Skywalker, or CATS.

Finally, when all else fails or you have used all of the above options, just take a walk or tell stories of holidays past, but do it together.
