The Los Angeles Angels are currently in first place in the AL West. Joe Maddon came back home to manage the Angels, after leaving the organization in 2005 to become the head coach for Tampa Bay and then the Chicago Cubs. 

Maddon joined as manager for the 2020 season and the team finished in 4th place.The Angels are off to a great start to 2021. It’s exciting to see an old  face like coach Maddon back in the Angels organization again as we hope to see the team have a healthy winning season and get back to the playoffs. 

During Covid, the Angles were going through a ruff time because they couldn’t practice. Mike Trout says “take it one step at a time, one game at a time and see where it goes” (Bollinger, Rhett. “One Goal for ’21 Halos: Win the AL West.” MLB.Com, 30 Mar. 2021). 

Speaking of players, the player Shohei Ohtani is coming back from dealing with a knee operation in 2019, and was slowly progressing until last year he was set back because he strained his elbow. If he can stay healthy the entire year, it will give the angels a major boost to the club’s postseason changes, hoping that a positive season will come to play.
