Moon Knight Makes a Debut on Disney+ With a Mind-Bending Series!
Fans of the Marvel comics have a very long list of characters from the comic books that they would be ecstatic to see in live-action, whether it’s in one of Disney’s series or movies. One of the characters that fans have been dying to see is Moon Knight, a vigilante that frequently works with many superheroes and superhero teams.
Moon Knight was created in August of 1975 by Doug Moench and Don Perlin. He first appeared in Werewolf by Night #32. His real identity is Marc Spector, a former mercenary that was left for dead in the desert and rescued by Marvel’s moon god Khonshu.
As excited as fans are, there are some worries surrounding how Disney will portray the story of Moon Knight. Disney has made adjustments to the storylines and origins of the public’s favorite characters. For example, In the movie, “Avengers: Age of Ultron ”, Disney made the creator of Ultron, the evil AI, Tony Stark, also known as Iron man. In the main Marvel comic universe, 616, Ultron is actually created by Hank Pym, the creator of the Pym particle and the first Ant-Man. Because of instances like this, fans are anxious that their favorite characters will be portrayed in a way they don’t like. This is why Marvel fans are excited but nervous about the Moon Knight series. We interviewed Haley Wong about how she felt about Moon Knight and other characters that are possibly coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and she responded, “I’m excited to see what comes next.”
The first episode of Moon Knight (Spoiler Warning) was full of mind-bending, thrilling scenes that raised seemingly infinite amounts of questions about what’s going on with the two different halves of the character. Disney made a great first episode that hooked people into the story by making the audience confused about the situation to make them anxious for the next episode. The series starts with the main character talking about how he wakes up in different places. Steven is the current main character and he works at a museum. However, things get weird when Steven wakes up in a strange field outside of a town, he fights the people in the town who claims he has stolen an artifact of theirs. These strange people somehow find him once he gets back to the museum and late at night, they unleash a monster to find him. This is where he transforms into Moon Knight.
In an interview with Milania Sanderson about what she thought about the episode, she responded, “It was confusing but I’m invested and can’t wait to see the next episodes.”
The release of Moon Knight makes many people excited for what is to come next in Marvel’s “Phase Four” and how it will change the course of things in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe.
