After the 2021-2022 season, the Lakers decided to fire Frank Vogel.

For three years, Frank Vogel was the Lakers’ head coach, leading them to a championship in 2020. After not making the playoffs this season, the Lakers decided to fire Frank Vogel.

This was not a surprise to many, including Frank Vogel. The Lakers have been struggling this season, and if they want to keep their star players, they will need to see some success. Lebron James’ contract is up next year, and if they’re going to keep him, they have to make some good moves and draft picks.

Lebron signed a 2-year contract after the 2020 championship, which is after the 2022-2023 season. “After the Lakers won the 2020 NBA championship, James signed a two-year contract extension worth $85 million that kept him with the franchise through the 2022-23 season. James will be an unrestricted free agent following the 2022-23 season.”(sportingnews.com)

Lakers firing Frank Vogel was just the first move of trying to win the next championship giving them the most titles out of any team in the NBA.

In conclusion, the Lakers firing Frank Vogel was not a surprise and was just one move starting many more actions that the Lakers will do to acquire more assets to round out the Lakers roster.
